I just finished my highest week of mileage in three years, with 85.
I knocked off a decent long run today of 20 miles
in 2:05:33(about 6:16 avg.). My first ten was in 64:20, and my last 10
was in 61:13. The last couple miles were in the 5:50's,
nothing too mpressive, but solid. The weather was great, and Forbidden
Dr. was busy even at 7 am on a Sunday with people getting
their long runs in.
I started the week off with a 16 miler, and also had a 13 miler
on Friday. After running on trails in Haddonfield
yesterday I did 10x100 on the Haddonfield track. It is pretty
sad when 15 second 100s feel fast, but that was the case
yesterday. On Wed run I ran 5:30's pace for a couple miles
in the middle of an 8 miler which felt ok other than the nasty humidity
the first half of the week.
There is 2 weeks until the Philly Distance Run, and my aerobic
strength is coming along, which is what matters for the marathon in November.
Running 5:15-5:20's for the half marathon right now is
going to feel fast, but there will be people to chase.
September is here, and the races start to get deeper and more
meaningful as the next couple months progress.
